About Us
Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide the highest quality of comprehensive mental health care and education services for at-risk children, adolescents, families and our community. Through our individualized treatment approach, we aim to help each child and adolescent we serve reach their full potential. Our ultimate goal is to create a safer and healthier community for all.
Vision Statement
At New York Child Psychiatry, we envision a future where all children, youth, and families are healthy, happy, and have opportunities to thrive. We strive to empower children to make safe choices through supportive and active relationships. We are committed to making this vision a reality for all children in our community.
At NYCP, we look at the whole child, the wonderful AND the challenging.
We are here to help navigate the obstacles that each individual has been given and help them through the maze that is adolescence.
Since children are still growing and developing, mental health conditions can take a massive toll on their long-term happiness, well-being, and development. It is vital to address children’s mental health conditions effectively, so that they can grow, learn, and develop to their fullest potential.
Our Philosophy:
Neurodevelopmental Disorders (NDD) are like a giant bowl of vanilla ice cream with rainbow sprinkles; each NDD is represented by its own specific colored sprinkle. Rarely a bowl of vanilla ice cream only has only purple ADHD sprinkles on top, most of the time we get a variety of colors (a variety of NDDs) sprinkled on our ice cream.
Rainbow sprinkle children tend to have amazing gifts which allow them to see the world differently.
When provided with multisensory, interventional strategies corresponding to their needs, those with NDDs can present their unique perspectives and ‘out of the box’ notions, which help change the world.
We must encourage parents, teachers, and providers to listen, educate and advocate for our children’s NDD sprinkles. In doing so, these kids can complete their metamorphosis and launch their divergent ideas into innovative, purposeful action.
