All first appointments must be in person. This gives you and your child and your provider an opportunity to get to know each other and establish a foundation.
The first portion of the appointment will be spent with the entire family and the provider. Please feel free to bring anyone you feel would be relevant to your child’s care.
Both the child and family members will also have dedicated time to speak privately with the provider. This allows everyone an opportunity to share their thoughts, concerns, and experiences in a comfortable and confi
dential setting.
The appointment will typically conclude with the family and provider coming together to discuss recommendations, develop a treatment plan, and determine the best path forward.
This approach is designed to create a safe, supportive environment where both you and your child have the opportunity to speak openly—both independently and together.
While you child is in the waiting room, we do have plenty of toys and books and art supplies for them to occupy themselves. If they have a special toy or book they would like to bring with them, please do so.
.
This cadence of appointments is always set by the tone of the child. If he/she is too nervous to meet with the provider alone, then that is OK.
If you have special notes or concerns about any of the above please contact our office and we will work with you to achieve the best first meeting for you and your child.
